Tips for Printing Your Photos at Home

Here are a few things to consider before you print:

    1.   Make sure your photo is the proper resolution for your final output. Remember, a high resolution file can be downsized for smaller prints, but a low resolution file will be fuzzy or blurred if you try to print it too large. To be safe, always use the highest resolution setting on your camera.

    2.   Choose the right ink and paper for your project. If you are printing a collage for your child’s binder, ordinary inkjet paper is fine. But, if you are printing photos for a scrapbook or album, you should use premium photo paper. Refilled ink cartridges do not produce the same quality prints as new ones. You get what you pay for.

    3.   Read your printer's user's guide before you start printing.

    4.   Choose the "Best Photo" or highest quality print setting before printing.

    5.   Preview the photo before you print it.

    6.   Store your photos properly.
